RPS has recevived a report by BBC Monitoring which hints at a conspiracy to topple the new Libyan Regime; it makes interesting reading for those working in Libya and the Middle East.  Below is what was reported by BBC Monitoring using open sources, however RPS can not verify any of the sources from BBC Monitoring nor the authenticity of the material at this stage.

The text of the report headlined: "Information obtained that the UAE has formed two cells to hit the Libyan revolution, defame the Islamist current," was published by the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood website Amlalommah on 12 October 13.

It appears that the appetite of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has been whetted after it succeeded in conspiring to topple the post-revolution regime in Egypt. Information complete with names and details says that the UAE security service, with direct supervision from Abu Dhabi's Crown Prince Muhammad Bin-Zayid, has formed two cells to work for a coup against the Libyan revolution and undo its results.

According to the available information, the UAE security service has formed two cells on a very high level. The first is a security cell that seeks to topple the new Libyan regime, confront the Islamic tide, and bring down the General National Congress [GNC].

The second is a specialized media cell that operates inside and outside Libya and that is headquartered in Amman, Jordan's capital. It seeks primarily to disseminate reports that serve the objectives of the security cell and to incite against the Islamic current in order to prevent it from reaching power, especially as most reports indicate that the Islamic current's assets have risen lately on the Libyan street.

The exposure of the presence of this security cell that is managed and financed by the UAE confirms the report published by "Asrar Arabiyah" [Arab Secrets] site. A highly-placed Libyan source said that a group affiliated to Mahmud Jibril financed by the UAE was instructed to kidnap Abu-Anas al-Libi [in Tripoli] and turn him over immediately to the American Intelligence.

Shaykh Tahnun Bin-Zayid Al Nuhayyan is in charge of the security cell. Its members comprise a number of enemies of the Libyan revolution including Al-Sa'idi al-Qadhafi, who managed to escape from the revolutionaries, in addition to a person by the name of Muhammad Isma'il, an Egyptian close to General Abd-al-Fattah al-Sisi.

The security cell is headquartered in Abu Dhabi. It meets regularly under the protection of the UAE security in the presence of Shaykh Tahnun Bin-Zayid. It recently intensified its efforts to bring down the GNC and create more anarchy in the country. It has set a deadline of February 7, 2014 for bringing down the GNC.

The media cell has the principal objective of defaming the Islamic current in Libya. It is run in Amman by Libyan businessman Jumma al-Austi, who is close to Say al-Islam al-Qadhafi and who owns a TV channel by the name of "Qanat al-Asimah." Al-Austi has also been assigned to supervise news on Libya broadcast by a number of TV channels financed by the UAE including Arabia Sky News and the Libya Al-Ahrar Channel.

According to the information published on the Asrar Arabiyah site, the UAE is seeking to bring down the GNC then assign the head of the Higher Court in Libya, Al-Dahhan Zawari, to lead a transitional phase. Zawari visited the Emirates lately and his star began to rise after he returned. This is taken as an indication that he is being polished for some assignment. The scenario of appointing the head of the Higher Court is the same scenario that was implemented in Egypt after the regime of President Muhammad Mursi was deposed.
