Crazy Friday - The man with the upside down head is an inspiration to us

Posted: 06/09/2014

This week's RPS Crazy Friday reports from the Huff Post.

With his head bent upside-down against his spine because of a congenital malformation, Claudio Vieira de Oliveira has a different perspective on life.

And it's all positive.

"I have never contemplated giving up," the 37-year-old Brazilian said in the clip of TLC UK's "Body Bizarre," above.

De Oliveira, in fact, has gone way beyond not surrendering. He graduated from college, became an accountant and now makes motivational speeches, according to the video below.

Not bad for a guy doctors said wouldn't live more than 24 hours.

De Oliveira was born with congenital arthrogryposis, a disorder that awkwardly curved his limbs, People reported. He learned to walk on his knees at age 8 and begged his mother to let him attend school.

There's been no stopping him since.

"Since I was a child, I've always liked to keep myself busy and work -- I don't like to depend totally on other people," he was quoted as saying in several publications.

Have a look at the video below for more on this inspirational man.
