Update on Mogadishu

Currently it is very difficult to get online in Mogadishu.

Reports coming from a source inside the Somali capital say that the problem is alledgedly caused by a broken fibre-optic cable on the sea floor, but we cannot verify this.

The Somali Government and some of the larger companies based in the Mogadishu area have a satellite link, but most don’t so this makes it difficult to get information from within the country and for those working in the city it is tricky getting information out.

There is no sign of when this situation might be resolved, but we will keep you u[dated.

RPS Partnership's consultant is an experienced security consultant with good Somali contacts and current local knowledge of the capital city and the country. He maintains a local network of people within the country who update him daily on the situation; often by phone.
