2 February 2016 - RPS Partnership

RPS is one of the leading providers of Hostile Environment Awareness Training (HEAT) courses in the UK. We uniquely have both male and female UK qualified trainers who are experienced at recently working in hostile, challenging and remote environments. All trainers hold a minimum of level 3 in Education and Training (UK recognised training qualfication).

We are offering a 3 day HEAT course for travel to difficult, remote or challenging locations. Our course is more compact over the 3 days and has been designed to fit in with your busy schedules, whilst still retaining all the important topics needed to keep your staff safe when travelling and working in difficult and remote areas. We have also included a disengagement skills module that will teach you safe simple techniques on how to release yourself from an unwanted hold or possible attacker.

Our course is designed for Production companies making films in difficult places, news journalists, NGO and humanitarian workers and executive travellers. We can show you how to travel safely. We will cover everything from what to do in a Tunisia style shooting or a Paris style terrorist attack to what to do in demonstrations or how to stay healthy in a natural disaster area. From Cambodia, Chad and Central African Republic to Thailand, Turkmenistan and Turkey.

Why RPS?

We have a diverse and unique team of male and female trainers; who not only have many years of experience, but who are still travelling to hostile, challenging and remote regions and providing security advice to our clients.

We train journalists, NGOs and executives to travel to remote and difficult places of the world. Our trainers bring a wealth of up to date experiences back into the learning environment and we share real time experiences and advice with you.

All RPS consultants are qualified trainers and hold nationally recognised training qualifications. On successful completion of the course, you will receive:

  • RPS attendance certificate – evidence which may be required for risk assessments and insurance
  • EFAW medical certificate (valid for 3 years)
  • Continuing support from RPS on your next assignment or overseas trip

This course is not designed for conflict zones; however if this is something which you require, we would recommend this course with another two day top up course which will cover conflict and battles, with more advanced first aid. Contact Cath Mossom for details [email protected]
