RPS Partnership expanding its training base into West Africa

Posted: 26/11/2019

26 November 2019 - RPS Partnership

RPS Partnership is delighted to announce our partnership with AACCES Development Niger (AACCES), a training company based in Niger.

This strong partnership will mean that our clients can be trained in Trauma First Aid, Hostile Environment Training or Safety and Defensive Driving at a central location in West Africa and just as importantly in either French or English.

Why are we doing this?

We are often asked to run training in French and often in West Africa. So we decided to listen to our clients and reach out to a French run organisation, which is already working in the area. AACCESS Development. We have visited the training centre, worked together on training programmes and we have seen and taken part in the training. It was realistic and progressive and we think that our partnership will be able to offer fantastic training to all our clients.

Who is ACCESS Development in Niger?

AACCES Development was created in November 2014 by Dr. Stéphanie CAHN, Professor of Law (Public International Law, Political Science and Human Rights) as well as an International Business Lawyer in Niamey, Niger. AACCES Development's training centre is accredited by the FAFPA (Fonds d’Appui à la Formation Professionnelle et à l’Apprentissage) - under the supervision of both the Ministry of Vocational and Technical Education and the Ministry of the Interior, of Public Security.

Together we can accredit Trauma First Aid through the UK system or the American system; AID Training and Highfield College (UK) and the American Committee for Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (USA). We work with the Nigerien National Gendarmerie which allows us to use their training centre as well as their staff during training programmes, ensuring realistic training. At our Naimey training centre, we can offer HEAT (Hostile Environment Awareness Training)/Hostile Environment Training (HET)), Trauma First Aid together with basic First Aid, Safe and Defensive Driving Training (SDDT).

Our Niamey Training Centre

The AACCES training centre is in Niamey and provides us with 250 m2 of infrastructure/facilities (three classrooms with 25 places/room equipped with multimedia and teaching materials, a cafeteria, and a WiFi internet connection). The training centre is backed up by a 40 KW generator that allows trainings to continue in case of a power outage.

We can run training in French or English, whilst remaining in the region, which keeps the training current and allows us to use French speaking trainers who are used to working in the heart of Sahelian Africa. Working with AACCES Development, we can offer our joint expertise at lower cost while providing tailor-made training programmes which meet the needs of our clients and partners (EU, UN, International NGOs, etc.).

Together our two companies can offer training for clients working in or deploying to Mali, Burkina Faso, Togo, Benin, Chad and Cameroon, amongst other countries in West Africa. We will adapt the training to the context of the country in which our clients will be operating.

You can take a look at the training here.
