Bolivia update

This area is becoming increasingly popular with adventure tourists but due to increasing tensions between local communities in this area foreign tourists have been affected.

At this time the dispute has caused disruption to transportation and tourists are being advised to remain extra vigilant as social conflict is common in Bolivia and this can result in flash strikes, widespread road blockades and demonstrations.  Tourists are also advised to carry extra food and water and be prepared for significant travel delays.

There is also a risk during these periods of express kidnappings.

Always follow local advice from your hotels, local guides or fixers, but if you do encounter blockades, never try to cross them.  If you become caught up in large crowds or a demonstration move to the edge of the crowd following the flow and away from the action.  Try then try to get away from the area as quickly as possible avoiding potential bottle necks where people may run to resulting in the possibility of being crushed.

If you are planning to travel overseas to challenging environments RPS Partnership offers Travel Security Training Courses which address the issues associated with ensuring your own safety whilst travelling for work or leisure. We offer bespoke travel security awareness workshops as well as training courses on how to work in hostile or dangerous environments.

We have male and female trainers who are all qualfied trainers with vast experience gained over the years; we can tailor training to your specific area of travel. contact us on [email protected] for more information.
