Catherine is an experienced trainer and Security & Risk Management Consultant who brings to RPS Partnership extensive experience of working overseas in conflict and post-conflict environments.
She is a former nurse (critical care and tropical medicine), who has fifteen years of working with NGO's, the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross in Sierra Leone, Gaza, Bosnia, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Pakistan, South Sudan, Kenya and Indonesia in medical, protection and operations posts.
For the past nine years she has trained humanitarians in sexual aggression management, trauma first-aid and personal security including simulations both in twenty-five countries; Europe and the UK, plus the Middle East, Asia and Africa for major INGOs, IOs, Governments and the UN.
Catherine has provided context specific advice on equipment and training needs for the European Inter-agency Security Forum and a number of INGOs.
Whilst her main focus is on trauma, she has written and developed courses including International Humanitarian Law for Medical Staff, Resilience Building / Stress Management, Well-Being in the Field, Chemical Weapons Awareness Training and Sexual Aggression Awareness/Management.
Catherine is a qualified trainer with a Msc. in Development Practice & International Humanitarianism. She is an Independent Sexual Violence Advisor having studied at the Centre for the Prevention & Study of Violence & Abuse at the University of Worcester.
She is a qualified trainer and is a trauma first-aid trainer.
